The Hellenic Community for Behavior Analysis is dedicated to the development and dissemination of behavioral philosophy and its basic and applied sciences wherever the contingencies of the Hellenic language prevail. The Community was organized in the esprit de corps generated by the 5th Conference of the European Association for Behaviour Analysis held in Rethymno, Crete in 2010. Initially a “virtual” organization, the Hellenic Community for Behavior Analysis organized its first bi-annual national conference in 2013 at Panteion University in Athens; the 2015 conference, also sponsored by Panteion University, was attended by over 400 persons with an interest in learning about behaviorism (videos from 45 conference presentations are available at the YouTube Channel of the Community). The Community also collaborated with the European Association for Behaviour Analysis in the organization of the EABA’s 1st Summer School for Behaviour Analysis, in a 2015 return to Rethymno. In short, the Hellenic Community for Behavior Analysis emerged in the context of the EABA’s efforts to disseminate behavior analysis across Europe.
At present it has reached the NGO status.
